A form for the «application of family reunification» has to be submitted. One application per person is needed. The form has to be filled in a language that the members of the family understand. Usually a translation of the document is not required The form can be downloaded in various languages here.
For all members, the following documents are required:
- A valid passport.
- Birth certificate.
- Marriage certificate.
- 2 passport photos.
The person in Austria has to provide the following documents:
- Copy of your notification (asylum or subsidiary protection).
- Copy of your registration form (Meldezettel).
- Copy of your passport (Geneva Convention Passport) or ID.
Possibly also:
- Copy of rental contract.
- Wage slip.
- Proof of health insurance (E-Card)
Documents have to be submitted also when costly or time consuming to obtain. If it is not possible to submit one or more of the documents, we recommend consulting an advisor.
It is important that the application is submitted complete. The embassy can demand for completion, if documents are missing, but this may considerably slow down the procedure.
